Only a professional in a controlled environment can provide such a diagnosis.

START About the Tritan (blue) color blind test If you don't have Colorlite glasses already, please contact us! Contact Do this exercise daily until you can name each color correctly. If you did not name the color correctly, try memorizing it and continue with the other colors. Name the first color and press the "Show me…" button. Start the exercise only when you see the white colors as white through the glasses. Wear the glasses for at least 5 minutes before exercising as to allow for color adaptation. This color naming exercise helps you develop the uncertainty in color identification ability. Without the correction glasses, the exercise is pointless. The following exercise is to help our customers, who are already wearing our correction glasses and would like to improve their color naming ability. You would still need to learn to identify (name) new hues never seen before. (After color adaptation that takes about 2 minutes.) However, the improvement in color identification ability is not yet spectacular. In the majority of cases, there is an immediate improvement in color discrimination with the Colorlite colorblind correction glasses. Colorblind people can only partially learn this ability. Color identification abilities begin in childhood and develop slowly as more shades are recognized over time. (Example: the grass is green, the sky is blue.) Nevertheless, without the help of the environment, it would be challenging. However, many colors are correctly named with colorblindness, because they have been learned. Good color discrimination is a prerequisite for color identification, as it is impossible to name colors properly unless we can distinguish them. While people with normal color vision can distinguish millions of hues, the colorblind can barely see a few hundred. Colorblind people have problems within both areas. My brother is colour blind and my grandad was too so always a chance I’d be carrying the gene, I’ve got one boy with it and one boy without. The two main characteristics of color vision are color discrimination and color identification.

I first noticed when he couldn’t tell the difference between the red, yellow and orange balls in his ball pit. My son can’t see baby pink at all, just looks grey. So purple is often confused with blue because they can’t see the red in the purple, orange and yellow gets confused, yellowy greens get confused with yellow, darker greens and red look brown. Red/green colour blindness is the most common type and affects all colours that red and green are part of. They tested him with those numbers hidden in coloured dots (ishihara test) and he couldn’t see any of them. The vision screening found he might need glasses so we were referred for an eye test at the hospital and I asked them about his colour vision. of course he got it all wrong, nothing wrong with his maths he just couldn’t tell the red, brown and green pencils apart! I was shocked by this since, at that age, teachers use colour a lot to teach other things e.g my DS2 was being given colour-by-numbers maths worksheets of pictures with sums on.colour any section with the answer 3 in red, any with the answer 5 in green, any with the answer 6 in brown. Might be different in different areas but the vision screening my children had when they started school didn’t include testing for colour blindness.
